The Director of Revenue Accounting (Gross to Net) at Milestone Pharmaceuticals will play a pivotal role in overseeing the monthly and quarterly accounting processes product revenue. This position focuses on ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting while maintaining a robust control environment. The Director will lead an effort to understanding and analyzing gross to net estimates and related liabilities, thereby supporting strategic forecasting and budgeting efforts. This hybrid role requires building relationships with key business partners in the Sales, Contracting, Marketing and Finance organizations, as well external vendors. Developing and implementing industry best practices within the Revenue Reporting and Accounting space.
YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Leading the Brand gross-to-net financial close process including but not limited to rate calculations, reserve adjustments and other financial analysis. Perform analysis of sales, returns, Medicaid data, Managed Care data, chargebacks, wholesaler inventories & fees, voucher programs and other data to ensure accuracy and appropriate reserves.
- Understanding of the GAAP principles related to revenue recognition and gross-to-net accounting practices
- Preparing and posting month-end accrual entries.
- Collaborating with commercial operations and other key stakeholders on various aspects of revenue reporting (e.g., weekly and monthly sales reports).
- Preparing monthly and quarterly revenue schedules such as net sales reports to facilitate Financial Reporting.
- Coordinating approval of commercial invoices and payment processing
- Assisting with mandatory government reporting by providing data to our external government pricing partner.
- Working with external auditors to provide required schedules and support, for the interim and annual audit.
- Performing various budgeting and forecasting analyses as needed.
- Supporting improvement of internal controls and efforts to automate and streamline processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting of the Company’s Financials.
- Completing and reviewing account analyses and account reconciliations.
- Developing monthly and quarterly financial closing and reporting process for GTN reporting and associated accounts, ensuring high quality financial statements and accurate management reporting.
REQUIREMENTS
- A bachelors degree in finance or accounting and at least 6 years of broad scope accounting, reporting and analysis experience from the pharmaceutical/biotechnology space with a strong understanding of pharmaceutical contracting, rebate programs and Gross to Net (GTN)
- Knowledge of the branded pharma supply chain and contracting, and the relationship to data flows through GTN models – including but not limited to direct sales, chargebacks, rebates, and copay data.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting and financial reporting requirements, ASC 606/revenue recognition requirements, and financial analysis tools.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail

- CPA or MBA highly preferred
