The Sr. Manager, Medical Excellence, will be responsible for co-leading the development, execution, and maintenance of scientific resources to be used for Medical Affairs (MA) activities, as well as training materials and deployment logistics for the field-based medical teams (MSLs and payer MSLs), medical information, and other internal training needs. This position will collaborate with Health Economics Outcome Research (HEOR) and Real-World Evidence (RWE) colleagues and activities to optimize the communication of those work products, e.g., in support of market access functions. This position will be responsible for management of agency identification and/or maintenance for scientific resources and content development.
In this role, the Sr. Manager, Medical Excellence will be assisting in innovating and developing medical digital technologies and can be responsible for planning and managing projects related to advisory boards, scientific resources, training, and other critical cross-functional workstreams. The Sr. Manager, Medical Excellence will ensure proper coverage at key medical congresses, including support of session coverage, medical information booth (MIB) coverage, and participation in key external stakeholder (KES) engagements. Additionally, the Sr. Manager, Medical Excellence, will contribute to Brand Strategy and the annual Medical Affairs Plan (MAP).
YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Support medical excellence strategy and execution of initiatives across MA in a timely fashion
- Help manage contracts, scope of work, and payments to ensure timely delivery execution of medical activities
- Responsible for uploading materials for Medical Review Committee (MRC) review
- Collaborating with cross functional teams to streamline processes, enhance productivity, and implement best practices, particularly but not exclusively in field medical excellence, medical insights process, medical education and adopting innovative approaches to enhance efficiencies
- Support Congress Strategy, including, but not limited to: medical booth coordination and session coverage in collaboration with field-based medicine; attendance at Congresses, as needed; review of Congress Executive summary prior to distribution; ensure aggregation of congress plans (including meetings) and awareness cross functionally
- Support scientific resource development; training material development and facilitation of training delivery
- Logistical support of projects such as advisory boards and consultancy meetings
- Contribute to Brand strategy and medical affairs tactical planning
- Provide support of presentation development for internal and external meetings
- Responsible for maintaining all key documents in source system / platform (e.g. Teams account and user access, CRM, etc.)
- Responsible for retrieving and storing (in content management solution) copyright permissions for certain figures, graphs and images as required
- Scheduling and support of key internal meetings
- Communication with KOLs, as needed, to support KOL engagements
- Maintain appropriate tracking documents for KOLs, metrics, etc.
- Provide updates on Medical Affairs activities at internal meetings
- Provide support across cross-functional projects including other areas of medical affairs and launch support, clinical development, and regulatory activities
REQUIREMENTS
- Advanced science / clinical degree (PharmD, M.D., DO, Ph.D.) with one or more (1+) years of relevant clinical or therapeutic experience or Masters level degree in health sciences (e.g., MS, MSN, MPH, MHA) with three or more (3+) years of relevant clinical or therapeutic area experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting within medical affairs strategy, preferred
- Experience in collaborating with Medical Affairs vendors that can provide medical excellence-related support
- Ability to implement projects of strategic importance on time and within budget
- Capable of working independently on multiple projects with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines with good judgement
- Identifies, analyzes and communicates problems, issues and opportunities, ability to escalate as appropriate
- Strong problem-solving and follow-through capabilities and excellent organization skills, detailed oriented and builds effective relationships to influence without authority
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
